Northcote’s cosy nook for all things brekky.
Where: 206 St Georges Rd, Northcote. Take a 19 minute walk from The CLUBhouse or drive there in 5-6 minutes.
What: The Breakfast Club is tucked away in a cosy corner off St Georges Road, offering up a range of breakfast and brunch treats using homely yet unique ingredients.
Rather than flooding their menu, The Breakfast Club keeps it simple by splitting their menu across two main sections: Brunchy Things and Sandwichy Things. You’ll find fresh spins on your old favourites, like Porridge with seasonal fruit and sweet dukkah, Ricotta and banana hotcakes with salted caramel, macadamia praline and labne, or your mate Avo on sourdough with pickled feta, herbed salad, dukkah and feta.
If you decide to opt for a sandwichy snack, the options are equally as lush. Grab yourself a Spiced Tofu baguette with pickled veg and white miso eggplant or their Vege breakfast sandwich with haloumi, egg, kale, tomato and broccoli pesto. Meatlovers need to get around their Reuben Sandwich with smoked corned beef, swiss cheese, slaw and pickles or the Bacon, avo and smoky relish melt with tomato, salad and mayo.
Another sweet thing about The Breakfast Club is that they’re down for members of all dietary persuasions. The majority of their menu is vegetarian, with many items including a Vegetarian, GF or Vegan option on request – so nobody has to miss out on the good stuff.
Price range: Cheap as chips. Sangas start at $9 and brunch from $7.
Opening hours: Monday – Friday, 7.30am to 3pm. Saturday 8am to 3.30pm, Sunday 8.30am to 3pm.
AWF’s Hot Tip: Get yourself one of their Vege Breakfast sandwiches as a vegan option, and sip on some English Breakfast tea from one of their cute tea sets. And leave the plastic at home – The Breakfast Club is cash only.
